• 2009.04.19 Fine Tuning Theme

I just finished mixing a composition I wrote in 1981 that I had to transcribe from a (rather bad) cassette recording; the masters being long lost. This piece, titled "Fine Tuning", was written for 2 violins, viola and double bass and was the theme music for a radio series I hosted, "Studio Work in Progress". The series, which was produced for Access Radio CKUA and The Banff Centre, initially featured the music and interviews with string instructors in Alberta but later grew to include visiting musicians and guest lecturers for the Banff Centre's Inter Arts program.

Here's the clip:

• July 22 to 26, 2008 were the dates for the huge Wayboard band reunion with Mike Mattson (drums, percussion), Keith Hunter (bass, vocals), Don Pope (guitar, sitar), Lody Kieken (organ, vocals), myself on keyboards and Dave Cunningham (guitar, vocals), Becky Palmer, Sharda Murray and Del Hunter (vocals). All the beds and guide tracks for a NEW CD were recorded at Keith Hunters Breakthrough Studios in Kelowna, B.C.. Look for a CD release in early 2009.

• Work continues on a new album with the working title, Six Wings. I think it will be an orchestrated acoustic and electronic amibient music project with guest artists but it might grow into something different. Fall 2009 still seems reasonable for completion.
