Given the almost avant garde quality of this CD, the listener might be forgiven for thinking that it's a band produced by either Phillip Glass or Brian Eno with Miles Davies, Kenny Werner and Philip Glass as musicians. The music from "Stonehenge Is Burning" is explorative with 'edgy' moments, calm interludes and an over all sound that is elemental. Distant trains roll through mountain valleys at night, rooms full of voices, percussion and backing tracks completely made from rocks, sticks, water, fire and wind.
But what sets this recording apart is the virtuostic soloing and compositional structure. Musical integrity is the guiding light, the goal of five years of writing, rehearsing and recording. The resulting CD is irresistable, a completely engaging listening experience.
